Theta Chi Fraternity - 170th National Convention, San Antonio, TX - July 10-14, 2026
Five Eta Mu Brothers attended the 170th OX Anniversary Convention and 42nd School of Fraternity Practices in San Antonio, Texas on July 10-14, 2026. Collegiate Brothers Cooper Sterling (Chapter President) and Ian Morales (Chapter Secretary) joined Alumni Brothers David Hinds, Mike Lenox, and Jim Rossi for 4 days of jam-packed Theta Chi Brotherhood and Education.
170th National Convention - All Attendee Event
And, the weekend of events did not disappoint as 1000’s of collegiate and alumni Theta Chi members and special guests attended.
Our Collegiate Brothers attended several powerful sessions covering Recruitment, Hazing, and Chapter Operations, while the Alumni Brothers participated in the Chapter Advisory Board track. All Brothers bring back to our Chapter a plethora of ideas, motivational processes, and overall renewed enthusiasm for our beloved Fraternity at UF.

Brothers Sterling and Lenox represented our HM Chapter as our two voting Delegates on the Convention floor where they helped to elect the 2026-2028 Grand Chapter. They also helped to elect our very own Ohioan, Brother Alan Copeland, as International Grand Chapter President. Brother David Hinds participated in an unsuccessful, first-time candidacy run for the Grand Chapter. While he did not win a seat on the 2026-2028 Grand Chapter, participating in the election process provided an incredibly valuable and energizing education for Brother Hinds. He received many compliments and enthusiasm from many well-respected International leaders encouraging him to get more involved at the International level and to run again at the 172nd Anniversary Convention in 2028. Hinds remains excited and humbled to participate in this process as he looks forward to developing his International exposure during the next two-year Grand Chapter election cycle.
Additionally, all Brothers participated in many awards presentations which recognized a multitude of OX Chapters and individual members from across our nation and Canada; they listened to three incredibly motivational keynote speakers and witnessed the installation of the 2026-2028 Grand Chapter. We also heard retiring Grand Chapter President, Brother Toby Roth, deliver several addresses including “The State of our OX Union” (which remains incredibly strong), a motivationally moving “What it means to be a Theta Chi for Life”, and a heartfelt “Farewell Address.”

The social or brotherhood celebrations were also noted. Our brothers also had opportunity to enjoy the San Antonio TX area. Including several key historical sites and opportunities to share a meal together and with other Theta Chi’s in attendance.
All of our members felt the event was very productive and right in line with the strategic planning sessions for our Eta Mu Chapter planned for late July. A opportunity to share the latest from the convention and add to our planning process.
“Another great brotherhood event!!” - David Hinds
