Strategic Planning Retreat Completed
A group of Theta Chi members, alumni and collegiate, from the Eta Mu Chapter gathered in Stow OH on July 25, 2026 for our annual planning retreat to review, discuss, and refine the strategic goals and plans for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Those in attendance were both collegiate and alumni members. Each participating in the process of goal setting refinement and setting the upcoming years vision and direction.
The goals submitted by alumni leaders throughout our organization included a focus on operational excellence, chapter advisory services, connecting to UF through alma mater first-Theta Chi for alma mater, event planning, fundraising events - including the 55th anniversary at 2027 Spring Formal with a set goal to raise $55k, speaking event planning, academic scholarship awards, membership scholarship awards, endowment fund planning, and a review of our 2036 plan vision.
In addition, changes to the alumni association purpose statement, organizational chart, and our planning cadence were also reviewed, discussed, and refined/finalized.
The collegiate goals were reviewed at a high level. The focus and associated discussion was on academics, health and safety, and recruitment with all agreeing with these important topics to be a key part of the collegiate goal planning for 2026-27. The collegiates committed to have their goals set for the 2026-27 academic year by August 30, 2026.
The collegiates also spent time creating a planning calendar noting all key dates and times for the Fall 2026 semester - a very valuable exercise for collegiate and alumni members with agreement to plan the Spring 2027 semester over the homecoming weekend.
The all day retreat also included a discussion on recruitment and the need for a full plan on recruitment. Including member training, event planning, tactic utilization, and tracking progress ideas. The collegiates in attendance agreed with the discussion and felt that a recruitment plan is needed and committed to engage a planning resource offered by the Sigma Kappa alumni.
A big thank you to all of our leaders in the alumni association for your vision and drive to further our organization. The 2026-27 Alumni Association (to include the 501c7 and 501c3) goal drafts will be reviewed, finalized, and approved at a special board of directors meeting on August 30, 2026 - stay tuned to the Eta Mu Outlet for the approved plan details!
