Collegiate Brothers Rent House (request for household items)

Theta Chi Collegiate Brothers Rental House, 115 Garfield Ave., Findlay OH

This past year has marked another major step forward for the brothers of the Eta Mu Chapter of Theta Chi. Six active brothers have come together to rent a house that will serve as a central gathering place for fellowship, academic support, recruitment, and alumni engagement. While this is not an official chapter house owned or operated by Theta Chi Fraternity, the home represents the continued resurgence and growth of our chapter and reflects the commitment our brothers have made toward building a stronger and more connected organization. The house will provide a stable environment that encourages brotherhood, accountability, and personal development while helping create a stronger sense of continuity within the chapter.

Requesting Household Items

The collegiate students have requested support to fill the house with household items including bed frames/mattesses/bedding, TV’s, desks w/chairs, dressers, shelves/organizers, and monetary donation for house initial supplies. This willing to donate these items can contact ethanlantz@gmail.com.

In the short term, the goals of the house are focused on creating an environment that promotes academic achievement, recruitment, retention, university support, community support, and active participation within the chapter. The brothers living in the house are committed to maintaining high standards and ensuring the property reflects positively on the Eta Mu Chapter and Theta Chi as a whole. Long term, the house is intended to become a valuable tool for sustained chapter growth by strengthening alumni relations, fostering mentorship opportunities, and providing a welcoming space for brothers, alumni, families, and supporters to reconnect. We believe this effort will help the chapter continue to grow exponentially in both size and impact over the coming years.

A great deal of work has already gone into ensuring this opportunity is structured responsibly and sustainably. Brothers Lantz, Billock, Morales, and Tiderington have worked closely on an alumni committee to finalize legal stipulations and documentation that clearly separate the property from official fraternity ownership or liability. These signed agreements and operational guidelines were developed to protect both International Headquarters and alumni supporters while also providing active members with expectations and standards for conduct, safety, and stewardship of the property. Their work has helped establish a strong foundation for the success of this initiative and demonstrates the collaborative effort between actives and alumni that continues to strengthen Eta Mu.

We have already been incredibly fortunate to receive generous donations from brothers, friends, families, and local churches, including desks, couches, a coffee table, and various kitchen appliances. As we continue furnishing the home, we are gratefully accepting additional donations from alumni or supporters who may have items available. Current needs include bed frames, mattresses, bedding, desks, desk chairs, televisions, dressers, shelves/organizers, and monetary donations to assist with setup and ongoing improvements. Any contribution, large or small, would make a meaningful difference in helping us build a home that supports the continued growth and success of the chapter. Brothers are happy to coordinate pickup for donated items whenever possible, and we greatly appreciate the continued support that has helped make this next step possible.
